Dysmenorrhea/ Pain during Menses

The medical name for period discomfort (menstruation) or menstrual cramps is dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is the pain related to menstruation. More than half of menstruating women have pain for one to two days each month. The pain is usually minimal. However, for other women, the pain is so intense that it prevents them from conducting their regular activities for several days each month.
