Menstrual cycle and the common concerns
Date – 2nd March 2022
Day/Time- Wednesday, 6 PM

Menstrual cycle begins at around the age of 12, your stepping stone into adolescence and adulthood thereafter. But how prepared are you for this next phase of your life??

It’s unfortunate that our society in general still lacks the basic knowledge about the physiological process of menstruation. This deficiency contributes a great deal towards the taboos and myths associated with menses, because of which girls and women are often hesitant to talk about their issues related to menses and habitually, are forced to downplay their problems.

While it is a part of our curriculum in schools and colleges, it’s needless to stress that we’ve still got a long, long way to go in order to achieve complete awareness about menstruation, not just in affluent societies but also amongst the common mass.

It is important to include both young girls and boys in our mission to accomplish a healthy and aware nation. Primary schools and colleges have a great role to play in this. Educating both, the young and the youth, about the menstrual cycle, is vital in building a gem of a nation that is focused on reproductive health.

So, in order to bridge this gap in our knowledge, today we have our very special guests, Mrs. Anita Gautam and Mrs. Mainu Kalita Das, with whom we will be discussing in-depth the process of menstruation and the common concerns associated with it.
